Volunteering at Breathe Gathering is a rewarding and immersive way to experience the festival from a unique perspective. Volunteers are integral to creating the magic and ensuring the event runs smoothly. Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, logistics, creative arts, or guest services, we’d love to have you on board!
Volunteer Opportunities
We have various roles to suit different skills and interests:
- Sustainability Team: Help with waste management, recycling efforts, and educating attendees on leaving no trace.
- Guest Services: Assist with ticketing, guiding attendees, and answering questions.
- Workshops & Activities: Support facilitators with setup and coordination of workshops and activities.
- The Breathe Bar & Cafés: Help serve organic drinks or assist in maintaining our beautiful chill zones.
- Art & Creative Spaces: Aid in managing interactive art installations, performances, and creative zones.
- Logistics Team: Work behind the scenes with setup, breakdown, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the festival.
What We Offer
As a volunteer, you’ll receive:
- Free entry to Breathe Gathering 2026.
- A meal plan tailored to our sustainable and organic ethos.
- Access to designated camping areas for volunteers.
- A certificate of participation (on request).
- The chance to meet like-minded individuals and make lasting connections.
Eligibility Requirements
Volunteers must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Commit to volunteering for at least 21 days prior and 16 hours across the event on a shift system.
- Submit all necessary forms, including the Volunteer Liability Waiver (link below).
For foreign volunteers, please note the following:
- Non-EU Citizens:
- Volunteering in Portugal as a non-EU citizen requires a valid visa. A tourist visa generally permits short-term volunteering as long as no monetary compensation is involved.
- Please check with the Portuguese Embassy in your country to confirm visa requirements.
- EU Citizens:
- EU residents can volunteer without a visa but must ensure compliance with any temporary residency requirements if staying for an extended period.
- Portuguese Residents:
- If you are a resident of Portugal, no additional documentation is required beyond the standard liability waiver and volunteer agreement.
How to Apply
- Fill out the Volunteer Application Form on our website. Provide details about your skills, experience, and preferred roles.
- Review and sign the Volunteer Liability Waiver (link below).
- Await confirmation and further instructions from our Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteer Liability Waiver
Volunteers are required to sign a liability waiver to participate. This document outlines the responsibilities of both Breathe Gathering and the volunteer, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Important Notes
- Volunteers are expected to act responsibly, follow all festival guidelines, and respect local laws.
- Alcohol and substance use is strictly prohibited while on duty.
- Please bring comfortable clothing and any personal items you may need during your shifts.
